Are you listening?

This world is such a noisy place; you can hardly hear yourself think. Silence has become something uncomfortable, unwanted, and the obvious and the ordinary numb our ability to really listen.
And yet, if I learn to sit inside silence with all the senses attuned, watching, listening and feeling, life can take on a new and beautiful meaning. I can develop an attitude of listening that allows understanding. The act of listening means I want to relate to someone or something. And if I want to develop the art of listening, and have a relationship with myself, my real self, both my heart and my head need to be heard. Usually, either the head dominates, and the constant mental noise overwhelms and overrides my intuition and inner wisdom; or the heart is in control and I am at the mercy of my emotions.
Meditation is a process of fine tuning, filtering out the static and creating a clear connection with my own personal frequency. This is the part of my self that is dying to be heard. Actually it is the part of me that is dying because it isn’t heard. It is said that the longest journey is from the head to the heart. By practicing meditation, my heart and head learn to communicate with each other, and the connection becomes a lifeline that pulls me to the shore of myself….a kingdom that is waiting to be discovered and explored.

MEDITATION

Listen to your body…. It is translating inner tension and stress into something you can become aware of.

Consciously relax each part of your body and feel muscles soften and tendons become loose.

Become aware of your thoughts….. ……learn to look between the thoughts… Like tuning a dial looking for the station you want ….learn to listen to the clear spaces between them……..

Fine tune.

Listen to your heart.

It speaks more softly. .. It is the radio that captures the frequencies of the soul.

Focus on the feeling….. Focus is intensifying the frequency…..the EXPERIENCE of your own vibration. You are your own transformer.

Your concentration is soft, gentle, subtle, and becomes a natural state.

Subtleness is the key to discovery……discover what is important…….listen to the language of the soul.

ACTIVITY

The heart is where we hold our feelings and the head is where reasoning lies. Balance and harmony between the two is necessary ; equal respect from one to the other, and from the soul/self for them both.

Create a DIALOGUE without words between the head and the heart. It can be in the form of a conversation, or they could write each other a letter. Allow each to speak of their respective priorities with honesty and a desire to be understood and to cooperate.
